THIS WEEK
Work carried out for week ending 28th November 2004

Ian applying local heat to the end of the spring hanger to help move the bush.

A close-up view of the press, showing the tool we turned up. It has a spigot turned in either end, a small one to fit in the press, and a larger one to locate the bush centrally.

The bush can be seen emerging from the underside of the hanger under the combined onslaught of John, Iain and a large hammer applied to the end of the press to overcome the stiction.

Ian drilling out the stubborn pin holding one of the four remaining spring hangers in place. Max's mag drill comes in very handy for these sorts of jobs.

Another shot of the pin being drilled. Once the hole was drilled out to 1" diameter, we burnt the head off and slotted the hole for the first 2", then knocked it through with a drift.

Job done. Only three left to go.

Some of the bushes were worn seriously oval.
